APAA Featured in The Art Basel & UBS Art Market Report
The APAA has once again worked with Arts Economics and Dr. Clare McAndrew, the author of The Art Basel & UBS surveys, to source key data from our global membership and craft findings into an exhibit that analyzes the strategic timing of art fair acquisitions by advisors. APAA's research reveals that 49% of advisor acquisitions occur during fairs, with significant growth in pre-fair activity (31% of acquisitions) compared to five years ago. The exhibit explores how advisors help collectors navigate the increasingly complex fair landscape, providing critical context for understanding the report's findings on art fair sales, which accounted for 31% of global dealer turnover in 2024. This contribution underscores the evolving role of advisors in bringing discipline to the collecting process in a market that continues to balance digital advancement with the enduring importance of in-person experiences.
We are thrilled to share that APAA’s authored section, Exhibit 3 (starting on page 145), is now live in the latest Art Market Report 2025.
APAA’s President, Alex Glauber, authored the exhibit with contributions from APAA members Ellen De Schepper, Laura De Beir, Lowell Pettit, and Courtney Pettit.
Thank you to Clare McAndrew, Art Basel, and UBS for making this possible and for helping to highlight the critical role that art advisors play in the art market.
